Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

12 03 2006

It never ceases to amaze me how I can go to church Sunday after Sunday and receive so much and learn so much. I feel like I’m growing in my relationship with the Father everyday. And the irony is that in the 6 months that I’ve been going to Buckhead Church we have never rolled around on the floor, ran around the sanctuary, or tarried around the altar. It’s opened up my eyes to see that all of that’s A WAY to worship God, but it’s not the ONLY WAY.

Today a guy named Louie Giglio started a series called "Alive" where he talked about just HOW fearfully and wonderfully made we are. I mean, that’s a scripture I quote all the time (Psalm 139:13-16) but when you actually think about how intricately God made us…it’s AMAZING!! Did you know that the human body is made up of 75 TRILLION cells?  25 trillion of those cells are red blood cells and they’re working to make sure that we have oxygen and stuff. Those cells only live for about 120 days. Another percentage of those cells are white blood cells and they’re fighting disease and those cells only live about 12 hours. Our body reproduces and replenishes about 50,000 cells per second! No wonder we get tired! Our bodies are always at work. God took great time to put so much detail into our DNA code so that NOBODY on earth is exactly the same. We are fitly joined together by God. It just goes to show you how God was so meticulous in the way that he created us. And we have the audacity to not want to take care of our temples.

If anybody wants to hear a good message, go to http://www.buckheadchurch.org and click on Sermons Online. You can listen to any one of the messages for free online, they are all great. Although I will advise you if you listen to anything in the "Indescribable" or "Alive" series, it’s best to watch the video since they are both very visual sermons.

"Sing a new song to the Lord!
Everyone on this earth,
sing praises to the Lord,
sing and praise His name.

Day after day announce,
‘the Lord has saved us!’
Tell every nation on earth,
‘The Lord is wonderful
and does marvelous things!
The Lord is great and deserves our greatest praise!
He is the only God
worthy of our worship.
Other nations worship idols,
but the Lord created the heavens.
Give honor and praise to the Lord,
whose power and beauty fill his holy temple.’

Psalm 96:1-6
